It is estimated that 16.1 million tablets were shipped in 2010 and with more and more companies that are launching their own tablets it is estimated that arond 150 million will ship by 2015.Now we are going to focuse on iPad 2 and Motorola Xoom to see which one is better.

A big difference between iPad 2 and Xoom is the ability to search messages. Xoom uses Google´s Android platform that assumes everybody uses a Gmail account which means the email cliant is pretty basic while Apple´s email client is flexible and clean.

When it comes to web browsing,Xoom has tabbed browsing which makes it easy to flip between sites. On the iPad 2,if you want to switch between sites you have to flip back to a menu of open sites.

There are more than 65,000 apps for the iPad while Xoom has only a couple of hundred,so clearly here iPad 2 is a winner.

When it comes to their camaras,Xoom is the winner with its 5 MP rear-facing camara and 2 MP front-facing camara.Unfortunately,iPad 2 has poor quality camaras:1 MP rear-facing camara and VGA front-camara.I have to add that iPad 2 is useless in low-light situations.

iPad 2 is lighterand offers a wide range of possibilities, you can choose the Wi-Fi only version or the 3G version and also offers different storage options(16 GB,32 GB,64 GB).Also it is cheaper than Xoom.iPad 2 price range from $499 to $829 while Xoom costs $799 or if you want a 2-year contract $599.

Xooms brings some features that we do not find in iPad 2,like micro SD expansion slot,Flash support and future upgradability to Verizon´s 4G network.
