Guinea, signs of rapprochement between the two candidates in the second round
The two candidates in the presidential election in Guinea, Alpha Conde and Dallein Cellou Diallo, have given hope to all those who fear that the second round, scheduled Oct. 24, goes wrong or is canceled. On 11 October, a sign of appeasement, they publicly shook hands. After meeting with the transitional president, Konate, “they pledged to form a national unity government with elements of the loser,” reports the Daily Burkina Faso.
